Hello there!
I’m sharing my simple, everyday moments from the past week and linking up with the InstaFriday crowd at Life Rearranged. Alas, I didn’t take very many photos this week…next week will be better!
this kid inherited my sweet tooth:
it’s strawberry picking season!
and then there’s this, which I found via this great Forbes article about managing distraction.
Read Morethis week was a big one. we went under contract on a new house. my little girl is now home full-time with me. my big girl learned the word “weird.” i actually exercised three days in a row. the huz didn’t have to travel anywhere for work.
we went out to lunch:
we admired the first signs of spring in our front yard:
we drew pictures of doghouses:
I’m trying something new and linking up to Instafriday here! Have an excellent weekend.
Read Moreladies and gentlemen, allow me to introduce you to, from left to right, tahanna, puh-kuna, mrs. wheeler, and mr. frumples. these are the names that my big girl gave to the finger puppets that she made with our babysitter yesterday. have i mentioned that i have the world’s greatest sitter? world’s. greatest. they do craft projects, make jello butterflies, make milkshakes…she’s the best. her cute blog is here.
the big girl and i had a date last friday while the little one was in school. we went to the park and fed the ducks. we did a scavenger hunt. we ran together, holding hands, and my daughter yelled, over and over, “we’re running together because we’re best friends!” these are the moments that i need to remember when she becomes a teenager.
don’t you think this duck could inspire a great pair of shoes or something? no? just me?
the little one is growing up way too fast. this picture is not at all her personality, by the way. she’s like a wild animal, and almost always sounds like she’s doing a fifteen-month-old’s impression of james earl jones.
this is where i worked this morning:
pre-kids, i probably took my laptop here three days a week. somehow, i’d forgotten about it. this won’t happen again. it meets all of my requirements–big tables, free wi-fi, great coffee, snacks, low hipster-to-regular-folk ratio, low college-student-to-regular-folk ratio.
i hope you have a wonderful weekend.

1. her artwork on the fridge. she says that the thing on the bottom is a “letter Q” and the rest of it is “the things I did in school.” (Isn’t it obvious?)
2. her little sister
3. her mama
4. one of her dogs (the one who didn’t have the forethought to hide under a table the moment she noticed a toddler was barreling towards her with a camera)
